Come January, the New Year 2008 is here with a boom thing for big box retailers and home furnishing stores. The World Market Center at Las Vegas is one of the most happening showcases for the home and furnishing industry, (http://www.lasvegasmarket.com) which also turns out to be the best upscale market in the country, one with faculties for international trade.
Recently, the World Market Center at Las Vegas hosted a Consumer Electronics Show (CES) offering buyers a widespread collection of permanent showrooms with the test in home theater entertainment, computer and home-office furnishings – all under one roof (On Jan 7 & 8th).
Expected to complete in 2012, the 12 million square feet World Market Center boasts of state-of-the-art exhibition area in 8 buildings on 57 adjacent acres in Vegas. But, the home furnishing industry need not wait till 2012, the WMC made a debut in 2005(July) providing the industry with a world-class environment with state-of-the-art conveniences, outstanding market representation, expediency, easy access, with exceptional amenities.
Looks like a promising place for both the furniture buyer and the retailer. Vegas Furniture Market takes place twice a year in January and summer (July) and is open only to members of the retail furniture and design trades. This year there are two events that mark the calendar in January—the MGM grand and the LAS VEGAS World Market Center and Pavilion from January 28 to 1st Feb. I guess, there is no fee to attend the market; you need to provide a Resale/Tax ID Number or Interior Design Certificate Number to register.
It seems the LAS VEGAS Market Center has the best infrastructure to support a trade complex. is rightly called the Convention Capitol of the World; it is trying to offer West Coast buyers, retailers and exhibitors a replacement for High Point.
